What is WAY American School?

WAY American School is a personalized learning experience for high school students, offering an innovative approach to education using current technology and project-based learning in alignment with content standards from the USA. The WAY American School curriculum fosters self-esteem, independence, and 21st-century skills development.

How did WAY American School start?

In 2013, WAY American School was founded to provide a project-based and competency-assessed learning experience for international students. WAY American School serves students in grades 9-12 in partnership with top international private schools across Brazil and China.

What level of English do I need to attend WAY American School?

Students applying for admission to WAY American School must pass an entrance exam that measures the student’s competency levels in writing, reading, listening, and speaking in English. WAY American School does not serve the needs of students who want to learn English at a beginning or intermediate level.

How do I enroll my child?

Parents interested in enrolling in WAY American School should contact the Administrative Assistant, fill out an Interest for Enrollment form, and schedule a time for the student’s entrance exam.

To be admitted and enrolled in the program, students must receive a passing grade on their entrance exam. After a student has received an official notification that they have been admitted into the program, parents will be asked to fill out enrollment documents. Upon completion of the enrollment documents, a class schedule will be given to parents and student prior to the first day of class.

Who are the WAY American School teachers?

WAY American School teachers are certified teachers in their content area(s). Most of our teachers come from the United States, while others may come from Canada, the U.K., Australia or other English speaking countries.

How long does it take to graduate from WAY American School?

We expect our students to demonstrate the U.S. national and state standards for each course. While all students learn at different speeds, in general we expect students to complete the WAY American School program in about 2 ½ years and graduate with a high school diploma.

Do you have graduation ceremonies?

Yes. When you have completed all the required credits from WAY American School, you will be awarded a U.S. diploma and transcript at a graduation ceremony for WAY American School students and their families.

Will WAY American School help me get into an American university?

WAY American School students graduate with an American High School Diploma, accredited by AdvancEd. The AdvancEd accreditation is respected and recognized across the world's higher education institutions.
